Jeff & Akayla Taylor

Jeff was born and raised in Grapevine Texas, he lived in Tennessee for two years. Akayla was born in California but has lived all over due to her father’s job.

Jeff graduated from Liberty University with a degree in biblical studies and a minor in counseling. Akayla will graduate in May from the University of North Texas with a degree in early childhood through 6th grade education. She hope to teach 4th or 5th grade. Jeff is the student pastor at the Lake Cities campus of Cross Timbers Church.

Jeff and Akayla do not have children yet (hopefully that will change soon) but they have two dogs who are their babies (Queso and Gizelle).

Jeff and Akayla met at their old church where Jeff was a student pastor and Akayla was the Girls Minister. After working together for a few weeks they realized there was a spark between them. They talked to their lead pastor and he said he knew they were going to get together and he gave his full approval. After dating for 10 months Jeff proposed to Akayla, they got married on October 21, 2017.

A close friend told Jeff and Akayla about Apartment Life years ago. When their lease was about to end they talked about where they wanted to go next. God placed Apartment Life on their mind and in their hearts and they decided to apply. Working in a church means they are both very involved. Their desire was to get more involved in the community and Apartment Life was the perfect fit for that. Jeff and Akayla have both lived in several apartments and none of them ever felt like home for them. They have a strong desire to make sure no one in their community feels that way.

Apartment Life brings a sense of family and community to the residents at Archstone Lexington. It is the hope of Jeff and Akayla that everyone feels welcome, loved, and experiences the love of Christ. Put simply: Jesus calls us to love our neighbors so that’s what we are going to do!
